Essential Oil Uses

Reset Your Day

Earl Grey Tea

Because we are human and imperfect, our days don’t always go like we had planned. Do you have a way to take a little timeout and reset your day? That’s my focus for the next few days in the Creative.Well.Being Community: all sorts of ways to reset and refocus. Just because the day didn’t start out well, doesn’t mean it can’t be redeemed! What do you do you #resetyourday?

My first suggestion on a way to reset your day is with a cup of tea (or coffee if that’s your thing, but tea is healthier…) I try to take a little break in the afternoon for a cup or 2 of green tea. It gives me a minute to take a breath, slow down, and know that what I’m drinking is a natural detox.

Bathe it Away!

This is an incredibly easy recipe for a relaxing, detoxing bath. Ready for a spa day? or maybe a spa hour? Yes, I know how hard it is to take a day for yourself so take whatever you can and recharge.

The main ingredient in this is Epsom Salts. Epsom salts are amazing for relieving tension, supporting healthy circulation, and soothing uncomfortable joints and feet. Plus, who doesn’t love a good relax in a bath. Continue Reading →

DIY Vapor Rub

This is such an easy recipe! And a great way to get the benefits of this respiratory system support without all the chemicals. Most store bought vapor rubs have harsh chemicals such as camphor, petrolatum, and turpentine (yes, you read that right!). Stick with the all-natural version and you can feel good about putting this on your kids. We will be keeping this on hand for cold and flu season.

And it Will Smell Like Fall Too

Even though I have lived in South Texas for a very long time, every year I long for the feeling of fall we had growing up in Kansas. We don’t have much of a fall here and it doesn’t happen until about late October so I have to manufacture it!

My son is really too old for playdough but I thought I would give it a try anyway. The idea of playing with squishy playdough that smells like apples and cinnamon was just too big of a draw for me. It seemed like a bit of a stress reliever too. A great addition would be Essential Oils. Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil smells amazing and supports immunity. Save this recipe for Christmastime and sub out the Cinnamon Bark for Peppermint Essential Oil. What a great gift for kiddos too!

Thanks to Kimberly from Natural Beach Living for sharing this taste of fall and fun with us!
