I am so excited to unveil the first pattern make from @shaggybaggytotes patterns! This is a test make of the Draw String Pouch that will go on sale to the public next month. I highly recommend it for a great project bag, a small toy bag, or simply a great beginner sewing project.

I made mine complete by hand too, no sewing machine needed. I used canvas for the outside & linen for the lining. Isn’t it cute?

This is what happens when you ask for a home remodel for Christmas. 😂

We bought this house knowing it needed lots of TLC. The people that did all the work did lots of things wrong. Their ideas and hearts were right but their execution was not good. Lots of cracks, mismatched woodwork, shoddy finishing, etc. But we knew that going in and loved the house anyway. I think we knew how much it needed us.

Jeff is fixing the wall between the living room & the sitting room. The original remodel opened up the wall too much so we are putting just a little bit back & replacing the woodwork that didn’t match anywhere else in the house.

We knew this was going to be a long term reno so I’m happy whenever it happens! 💖

It's hard to accept that fact that with my increase in age, my hormones are kinda fighting against me. My metabolism has plummeted. Luckily, I've got some good resources and learned a lot when I was getting a nutritional advisor certification. I am taking a simple approach for now - clean meats and veggies and limiting carbs and sugar. I found these great #whole30 cookbooks at @olliesoutlet and I found some great recipes to add to my menu.

In my efforts to embrace this season more fully, I am giving more thought to what I'm truly thankful for and what gives me even just a little bit of joy.
Some things I'm really happy about right now:
• The cooler weather so I can wear some of my hand-knits. 🧶
• Everyone putting up their holiday decorations so early to add some light to the darkness.
• Creating handmade artisan bread with Einkorn Berries that I ground myself.
• Singing beautiful music in the First Baptist choir.
• Putting together the Maker Boxes for my lovely customers and choosing great goodies for them (Yarn Texas).
Those are some amazing things in my life... I would love to hear some things you are enjoying right now.
