Essential Oil Uses

Day 2 – Bathe it Away!

For Day 2 of Creative. Well. Being., I made an incredibly easy recipe for a relaxing, detoxing bath. Ready for a spa day? or maybe a spa hour? Yes, I know how hard it is to take a day for yourself so take whatever you can and recharge.

The main ingredient in this is Epsom Salts. Epsom salts are amazing for relieving tension, supporting healthy circulation, and soothing uncomfortable joints and feet. Plus, who doesn’t love a good relax in a bath.

Baking Soda is added to neutralize any harsh stuff in your water. We live in a city with hard water so I would definitely add this but if you have a softener or whole house filter, leave the baking soda out.

The final ingredient gives this soak added benefits of relaxation, mood support, and cleansing. Bergamot Essential Oil also smells SO GOOD!

Recipe:

Directions:

  1. Pour contents into hot bath water and soak for 20 minutes. Try to cover your entire body up to your neck.
  2. Once you get out of bath, avoid eating anything for 20 minutes and drink plenty of cold water.

I would love to hear how this works for you! Did it help to get this holiday season started off right?

*Please only use high quality Essential Oils. Find out what I use and recommend here.

DIY Vapor Rub

This is such an easy recipe! And a great way to get the benefits of this respiratory system support without all the chemicals. Most store bought vapor rubs have harsh chemicals such as camphor, petrolatum, and turpentine (yes, you read that right!). Stick with the all-natural version and you can feel good about putting this on your kids. We will be keeping this on hand for cold and flu season.

And it Will Smell Like Fall Too

Even though I have lived in South Texas for a very long time, every year I long for the feeling of fall we had growing up in Kansas. We don’t have much of a fall here and it doesn’t happen until about late October so I have to manufacture it!

My son is really too old for playdough but I thought I would give it a try anyway. The idea of playing with squishy playdough that smells like apples and cinnamon was just too big of a draw for me. It seemed like a bit of a stress reliever too. A great addition would be Essential Oils. Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil smells amazing and supports immunity. Save this recipe for Christmastime and sub out the Cinnamon Bark for Peppermint Essential Oil. What a great gift for kiddos too!

Thanks to Kimberly from Natural Beach Living for sharing this taste of fall and fun with us!

A More Healthy Way to Take on Mold

With all the flooding in South Texas in the past week and still happening, the go to for clean up is usually bleach. But is that really the best thing to use? It might not be…

Bleach does kill mold but it’s not as effective as you might think. Bleach consists of 90% water which is the exact liquid that got the mold growing in the first place. Also, bleach is meant to clean non-porous surfaces – not to soak in to wood and wall-board. So the wall may look clean but may not actually be free of mold.
