Hot Carob? With Peppermint???

Yes, I know, it doesn’t sound as yummy as Hot Chocolate. But when you are a chocolate lover that developed a chocolate allergy, you do the next best thing… Hot Carob! And then to amp up that flavor even more, how about some peppermint flavor (or cinnamon)? This recipe can absolutely be made with real chocolate too – I made it that way for Malcolm and he loved it!

It’s really easy to make and it only requires a few ingredients.

• 1 cup of milk (dairy or non-dairy)
• 2 Tbsp Unsweetened Carob Powder or Cocoa Powder
• 1 Tbsp Raw Honey
• 1 drop of Peppermint Essential Oil or Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil
• a few Chocolate Chips or Carob Chips (optional)

Over medium heat, stir the milk in a saucepan until hot (but not boiling). Add the Carob or Chocolate Powder to the milk and allow it to dissolve. Then pour the mixture into your favorite mug and add honey and Essential Oil. (This is where I threw in a few chocolate or carob chips to add that chocolate creaminess but only if you are a chocolate crazy like me. 😂 Stir well and drink up! So easy!
