Day 4 – A Fancy Meal That’s Not

This meal right here is my boys’ all time favorite. Every time I ask them what they want for dinner, they say “Pasta with Prosciutto and Peas”. It sounds so fancy, especially when you find out it has shallots and heavy cream too. I had never even touched a shallot before I made this but they are really tasty! They are like a very mild onion.

This is pretty much the most difficult part of this dish – cutting up the shallots and the prosciutto, but the fact that you are using non-traditional ingredients just elevates this dish to something that seems much fancier. If you need a super easy dish for a dinner party, this can be the one.

I originally got this recipe from Martha Stewart but have simplified as I have made it so many times and I leave out the lemon juice (although it would be tasty) and I don’t really measure anything anymore. I also think it would be good with zucchini noodles or gluten free noodles if you have diet issues to consider. Leave in the butter and heavy whipping cream – those are really good for you!
